YWIE

Our theme for Young Women in Excellence was Dressed for Eternity and we focused on preparing for the temple and the 3 white dresses.
Because we are ALWAYS on a budget, we purchased iron on transfers and used them for the temple image and words.

Magnetic Board

We made these for a Super Saturday. We have a place here in town that is great about cutting the sheet metal for us crafters. We had them "fold" over the edges on this one and punch the holes for the ribbon. Last time I checked, it was $6.50 for a 12x12 piece with edges folded and holes punched. Then we just added some vinyl lettering to the bottom. I found these cute wooden pieces already painted at Roberts. I just glued a magnet to the back and i was DONE!!! Super easy and perfect for small children to have their own little magnetic board for pics.

Letter Detective

Our kindergarten class does a really fun activity called "Letter Detective". They take turns taking this bag home and they have to bring back something that starts with the designated letter along with 3 clues for the class. They tell the class the 3 clues and then the class tries to figure out what could be inside. Hailey's teacher mentioned that her old bags were getting worn and she needed to search for some new ones. I LOVED the idea of the letter detective and I was sure that I could come up with something fun.
I purchased the bags at Waslmart and added a magnetic closure to the top of the bag. I found some really cute ABC fabric at JoAnn's and used wonder under to adhere it to the bag. Then I designed the letter detective portion on my computer. I printed it off on T-shirt transfer for dark colors and ironed it onto the yellow square. I sewed around the edge of the yellow fabric - just to make sure it wasn't going anywhere.
I think they turned out super cute!! The teacher loved them so much that she asked me to make 2 extra in case they got lost or worn out.

P.S. Chance had this same teacher 2 years later and I was glad to see that the bags were still in great shape...and she still LOVES them!!!!

Old Old Craft

This is a project that I made several years ago for some wonderful sisters that I was serving with in the Relief Society Presidency. I purchased scrapbook paper and then designed my quote and printed it onto the paper. I found these 5x7 wood plaques at Walmart for less than $1. I painted them and then applied the paper using Modge Podge.

Statue of Liberty

I have to share this because it is so HILARIOUS!!
Calista had to make a 3d project based on the Statue of Liberty. Luckily, we had this old Barbie that we painted green, made the crown out of chenille stems, and torch out of a paint sponge brush. It was a hilarious and fun project.
